American Idol Look A Likes

I don't like watching American Idol. I don't like watching singing contests. Especially local competitions where I often hear contestants says "Gusto ko manalo, mahirap lang kami, ito ang pag-asa namin maka-angat sa buhay.", don't get me wrong, I LOVE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES.

One Night... Belle invited me to watch her illegally download AMERICAN IDOL videos via Torrent, I Love being with Belle, and I could enjoy watching 'anything' for as long as I'm beside her. Then she said 'Jasper, panoorin mo ito, yung contestant na to ay parang ikaw.'

Then I said 'Weh? Dapat magaling yan'. Then the contestant she was referring to was playing an upright bass with so much soul and groove. Then I said 'pwede na'. I myself can't play an upright bass because just like the violin, the upright bass is a FRETLESS instrument.

The next day, a friend from mainland China, pop a message with a Youtube link via GTalk sayings 'Hey Jasper, this reminds me of you'. First I thought my Friend's PC and GTalk is infected by a virus. When I check the link, my friend was also referring to the same AMERICAN IDOL contestant.

The real winners in the Music Industry are the Record Companies... like Sony, Motown, etc. and not the Artists. I strongly believe everyone has music in them... it is to expressed and not exploited for financial gains. I also believe winning or participating in singing competition in national TV can't save your ASS or your Family's ASSES nor it can help the Country. The Youth should focus more on Science and Technology... and help this Country rise, Music on the other hand is something that should be enjoyed because it is something FREE and Natural like Air and Water... Music should just be nurtured and enjoyed to balance Life. It's not something to rely upon for a living. The Youth should be more Wise.
